Every year a few of our calves will get sick and require antibiotic treatment to save their lives. It's important to understand the difference between therapeutic and sub-therapeutic treatment. Many industrial livestock operations continuoulsy administer antibiotics to their animals to prevent illness, this is called sub-therapeutic treatment. We only use antibiotics in an emergency situation where the animal will die without them, this is called therapeutic treatment. Until now all animals that received a shot of antibiotics were sold into the conventional market. Several of our customers felt that selling our treated cattle to feedlots was not an acceptable animal friendly option - especially since they still met all of our other program parameters. We surveyed our customers and 80% of respondents felt that we should include treated animals in our offering without any segregation. The remainder of respondents wanted segregation. Meeting customer needs is very important to us so we have chosen to offer these treated animals as mixed eighths only so we can easily identify and keep them segregated from our un-treated products. Almost every treated animal has had a two year withdrawal time and we feel that there are likely no antibiotic residues left in their system.
SAVE 20% compared to a regular Dry Aged Mixed Eighth!
On TK Ranch we understand that our customers like buying in bulk without having to purchase a year's supply of meat so we have conveniently divided our halves into four equal mixed portions. So when you order a TK Ranch Dry Aged Mixed Eighth you will receive exactly one quarter of a half that will contain a mix of your favourite cuts. We charge a flat price which includes cutting, wrapping and delivery to one of our pick up locations in either Edmonton or Calgary. This keeps things much easier for everyone. All of our beef is very well trimmed and our ground beef and stew are at least 85% lean. Our beef is also vacuum packaged to extend its freezer life. All cuts are labeled so you will be able to identify what is in your freezer.
This is our most popular bulk package and is ideal for a growing family. You will receive approximately 50 lbs or 23 kgs of beef and will need approximately a 5 cubic foot freezer with room to spare.

All of our beef cuts are dry aged the old fashioned way for 18 to 21 days for added flavour and tenderness. This is very different from virtually all conventional beef found in big box stores or restaurants that has been wet aged in a plastic bag.
We believe in giving you the best value so all of our cuts are well trimmed and our roasts are tied. Our products are vacuum packaged to add freezer life and for convenience — simply thaw in cool water before cooking.
